The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the traitor.
