Forest vs Malmö and historical connections. The these sides have a special connection, also meeting in Forest's most recent continental tour in the 1995-96 Uefa Cup, but it is the premier competition final 46 years ago that connects these teams, with Britain's first £1m player Trevor Francis netting the decisive goal of a largely forgettable match to secure historic victory for the red half of Nottingham.

One should note to consider Malmö, who became the pioneering and only Scandinavian side to make the championship match under manager Houghton.
The current fixture is a very different to that summit, closer perhaps to the previous continental meeting between Forest and Malmö in that era. Forest are riding high after thrashing Liverpool at the famous ground on Saturday, while Malmö haven't played officially since last month following the conclusion of their domestic campaign. The smart money is on the home team tonight.
